Spooktacular Mummy Planter

Like I said in my Post Tuesday, I am ready for Halloween… but my Front Porch was not!

My first project was re-working those Old Porch Chairs.

Today I decided to re-work a couple of old and tired Planters that used to live on my Front Porch but have been living neglected on my Side Yard.

See what I mean?  Sad, faded and ugly.

Those chairs turned Halloween Master Pieces got me thinking… I could Halloweenify these too!!!

My first thought was to just Spray Paint them (shocking!).  I went with Rust-Oleum’s Hammered Metal Spray Paint in Black.

Better… but… not enough for me.

 I decided to Mummify it!

Off to Home Depot I went for some Cheesecloth (which of course I didn’t get enough of so I grabbed some more from Hobby Lobby when I was there today).

I just wrapped it around my planters and adhered it in spots with some leftover Batman Duct Tape.

I then used some Wood Ovals from Hobby Lobby to make the eyes and affixed them with Hot Glue and Voila!

As you can see from this last picture, I am adding some branches to the planter.  I also spray painted those with the Hammered Metal Paint.

It needs more there too…. for another day I suppose.
