Tic Tac Toe that Travels

I came across a Pin on Pinterest the other day where someone had created a Tic Tac Toe Game with decorative rocks and popsicle sticks.  I loved the idea so I took it and put my own spin on it!

(I wish I could find the darn pin and I would reference a link back to it here)

One thing that drives me batty about all the games my kids have is the multitude of loose pieces.  We (when I say We I mean the Hubby and the kids) are constantly misplacing pieces which means we (when I say We I mean Me) are always looking high and low for all the missing pieces.
Solution:  Magnetic Tic Tac Toe Board!

Here are all the Supplies you Need:

Tic Tac Toe Board - Primer & Painted Nails

I used a Dollar Store Cookie Sheet, Magnets from Hobby Lobby, Frog Tape (and Blue Painters Tape to get different width lines), Spray Paint in Brilliant Blue and Rocks from my very own back yard.

This process was pretty simple.

I used a fine grit Sandpaper to rough up the surface of the Cookie Sheet slightly – don’t push too hard or you will end up with lots of scratches that will show.  I then taped off my pattern.

Then I was ready to take this part outside and start spraying – light even coats.
While that was drying, it was time to get the kids painting the rocks.

We just used Acrylic Paint we had on hand.  After the paint on the rocks was dry I simply hot glued the magnets to the back of the rocks!

Here it is all finished.

My boys were very excited to play their new Game.

As I watched them play a thought struck me.

This Magnetic Tic Tac Toe Board would be great for a Road Trip!!
