The Ralph Lauren Style Soiree–a Tiny Tribute

I am a Blog Stalker.

Big Time.

This morning was a good morning for me… I had time to stalk my favorite Blogs.

Sometimes there just is not time to read them and I get very backlogged on checking them out and miss out on some fun Link Parties.

Not Today!

I got to check out one of my Favorite Blogs this morning – Our Fifth House.  I adore this Blog and love the personal style of Carmel who is the awesome Author of this awesome Blog.

I was excited to see that she was doing a fun Link Party today!

Our Fifth House - Ralph Lauren link party

I really wanted to participate… and thought I had nothing that I had done a la Ralph… when it dawned on my that I was actually doing a project that held a Tiny Tribute to the greatness of Mr. Lauren.

Yay!  I get to Link right on Up!!

I am right now at this very moment working on converting an old dresser in to our TV Stand.

I decided to take a chance and use the old hardware and just give it a fresh coat of paint… in a bright Red (classic RL).

Here is where they started.

Dresser turned TV Stand Hardware Before - Primer & Painted Nails

If the Hardware had been a good gold – like the keyhole pieces (hard to tell in the pic but take my word for it they are a nice gold) – I would’ve left them be…

maybe…

When I started considering whether or not to keep these, I decided I had nothing to lose by spray painting them a bright color.  If I ended up hating them I could just buy new Hardware and all would be right with the world again.

I started contemplating the idea of red because I have some Red in very small doses in the room and thought it would be nice to add a few more small accents of Red.

As expected, I turned to one of my favorite go-to brands of Spray Paint.

Here is my Hardware all painted and glossy and Apple Red!

I’m loving the keyholes in their original Gold.  Now that is a good Gold!!

This Hardware is such a classic Traditional design that was often used on these older dressers.  Keeping that Traditional Design and spicing it up in a Modern Classic Red just spoke to the Ralph Lauren design aesthetic in my opinion.

How can you not love everything by Ralph Lauren.  He is an American Classic!

See You Soon….
