Plastic Easter Egg Craft

It’s getting closer and closer to Easter!!  I decided to pull our Easter Decorations down from the Attic the other day, and guess what was staring me in the face?

These.

Easter Eggs - Primer & Painted Nails

These darn plastic Easter Eggs mate and have babies every year up in my attic in storage.  I swear they do!!!  I feel like I put them away and they seem a reasonable number until I open the bin up again the next year and they seem to have doubled.

I know these are cheap and it seems silly to keep them every year… but you know what seems even more silly?  Throwing them away and buying more every year that’s what!

These silly little eggs got me thinking….

But I have been thinking about something else lately too!  I have been seeing some seriously cute Easter Crafty Wafty projects all over Blogland lately… some with eggs… real eggs?!!!  Ewwwwww… is all I can think.  How do you hard boil eggs and then do crafty things to them – think gold leaf, dip dye and such – and keep them out as décor without them smelling up the joint?  It confused me greatly???

But, alas, this is where my separate thoughts joined together to form the perfect union (cheesy?  for sure!).

I got to thinking… “Forget the silly hardboiled eggs”.  “I’ve got lots of extra plastic ones on hand”.

And my idea for Twine Wrapped Eggs was born!

I had all the supplies on hand.

First I simply glued these pesky eggs together.

I then gathered my glued eggs, modpodge and twine.  I also grabbed my most useful tools of all – My Hands of course – and got busy!!

Easter Egg Supplies - Primer & Painted Nails

It was for sure an easy no-brainer of a task… but a little tedious too.

I love the outcome though!

I have to fess up… I only finished Three (it is Spring Break after all)… and I have three to finish still… but that’s okay for now….

I’ve got some more plans for these plastic friends of mine…. to be continued….

See You Soon….
