Gossip Table Time

“Oh my gawd Becky!  Look at her Butt.  It’s so Big!!!!”

Is it weird to start a Blog Post quoting a Sir Mix-a-Lot song?  Not in my world it’s not!

If you know me, you know I have a deep love for old school rap… not the overly dirty kind.  The somewhat clean (not that clean, but you know what I mean) kind.  It makes me want to boogie, and it brings up old memories of fun times.

Remember this sweet find?

Gossip Chair Before - Primer & Painted Nails

It’s called a Gossip Table (love that name).

Which makes me think of being a teenaged girl.

Which makes me think of talking on the phone far too much about far too little.

Which makes me think of how we used to talk while gossiping on the phone with our friends.

Which makes me think of the girls talking at the open of the song “Baby Got Back” by the poetic genius Sir Mix-a-lot.

Phew… lot of words.

I finally got around to the reno of this beauty.  I started with some of the infamous Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  I went with the Antique White using a dry brush technique.

Here it is in process…. dry brushing is a simple technique.  You basically just dab the paint brush in the paint and do a sort of brushing on the paint and then dragging your brush back through the paint you just applied to spread it thinly around.

I was totally happy with how it was coming out (even though Gigi saw it and said “oh look you got it primed.  What color are you going to paint it?”).  I had bought some Fabric for this beauty and tried it out.

Gossip Chair After - Primer & Painted Nails (3)

Not loving it… the fabric was too creamy white while the chair was a brighter white.  It just wasn’t working for me…. but that is okay.

I am resourceful.

I changed course and used the fabric on my Dining Chairs and posted about that here.

Now that this fabric is on all my Dining Chairs and the Entry where this Gossip Table currently lives are in view of each other I thought pulling out the black in this Fabric might be nice and complementary.

So I found a blurry Chevron or ZigZag fabric.

Not 100% Sold on it yet, but feel like I need to live with it for a little while to be sure.

Here are some more shots with this Fabric.

I do love this find so so much!

I may grow to love this Fabric on it.  We shall see….

Happy Spring Break people!

We are starting ours out a little rough… my sweet Mister B is not feeling good at all.

See You Soon….
