That's what we will call Tuesdays! How does that sound? When I see rooms that are done in all neutrals I do love them - they feel so peaceful and serene. Even though I have a true appreciation for the beauty of a monochromatic neutral room, I have what some may call an obsession with color - lots of color! Saturated color just does something to me. When I see a room or a picture of a room in a beautiful saturated color it speaks to me. I feel it in my gut and my whole body tingles with appreciation. I know this may seem nuts to some! Maybe it is.... but I love design and I love color.
Speaking of color, did you know Pantone has named it's Color of the Year for 2012 (they actually announced it back in December of 2011 but I am a little behind the times)? The winner is (drumroll please)......
Tangerine Tango! I like it just based on the name alone. Sounds saucy and Latin. Let's back up just a little for those of you who are saying to yourselves "Ummm who is Pantone?" Pantone LLC is the leading authority on color, and the provider of professional color standards for the design industry - everyone from fashion designers and interior designers to graphic designers look to Pantone for color guidance. The reasoning behind the color choice:
“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”Seems like sound reasoning to me! I love this
I love it mixed in with tones of gray and tones of tan - either neutral works with it beautifully. Check out all the ways this color is being used.
I don't know about you but I'm ready to get my Tangerine Tango on!
See you Soon....
